Parents with Children Affected by the Opioid Epidemic Share their Stories on White House Medium

On Monday, September 18, Director Michael Botticelli and Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack met at the White House with parents of children affected by the opioid epidemic.  During the meeting, parents discussed the difficulty of finding treatment for loved ones in their communities and the need for more resources for treatment.

As part of National Recovery Month and Prescription Opioid and Heroin Epidemic Awareness Week, the White House stands with the courageous individuals in recovery and recognizes the importance of raising awareness about this epidemic.  When people in recovery share their stories, it reduces the stigma surrounding the disease and encourages others to share their own stories and seek treatment.
